It's been confirmed in an official Gorillaz quiz that 2D can change the color of his eyes at will. There is no emotional or physical effect that causes this to happen. In a way, I think Jamie just simply likes drawing 2D like this and couldn't be bothered to truly give a proper explanation apart from "They change because they wanna change." Lol

Oh yes, and don't get me wrong: I listened to the new song, and it turned out loads better than I expected; and I really didn't mean to be a croaker or something - it's just that for most of us 2-D being the "Chosen One" is rather ambiguous. But I will stay optimistic nonetheless - after all, 2-D did save Murdoc from a sinking Plastic Beach in "The Lost Chord"...

I've already made a short "Wands up for 2-D!" video (I'm a fan of both Gorillaz AND Harry Potter), in case the worst would happen (Heavens forbid!!!) - I hope I don't have to use it... I know I'm not the only fangirl of 2-D, but I'm really looking out for him - he's my favourite 💖
