I don’t know if anyone else feels this way too, but I really feel that the people who resonate with Lana’s music are very lonely people. She’s not mainstream, she’s somber & too slow for most people’s taste, so she’s like this special sad treasure for us loners to listen to & cry to alone lol
i think she is just soo talented and genuine and has this out of the world vision of music that no one really has in the industry today, and people are looking for such essence in an artist these days.
this song has been leaked for a few years, it's just now being released. actually i don't think she even re-recorded it (maybe she did and i can't tell). beautiful!!
This is one of my absolute favourite songs of hers! As well as thunder, cherry blossom and living legend. So I'm also very happy she officially released them because now so many more people can hear them!
❗Lyrics ❗ [Intro] Ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh [Verse 1] What cruel world is this? Nectar of the Gods Heroin gold in my veins, and you in my thoughts I'm on the freeway racing at a million and I just can’t stop I call you up twice, hang up the phone, call again, I wanna talk [Chorus] I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, knew, knew I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh [Verse 2] What sweet world is this? Honey on the vine School kid dreams came true then passed in the night I used to dream about people like you, now I don’t know why I used to sing about people like you, now I just get high [Chorus] I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, knew, knew I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh [Bridge] Ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh [Chorus] I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, ooh, ooh I get wild on you, baby I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh [Outro] Californ-I-A, homeland of the Gods Once I found my way but now I am lost
Beautiful! Makes me wonder why you didn't include 'FINE CHINA' which is utterly beautiful as well...Maybe as a b-side somewhere. The whole album is a masterpiece, as are all her other albums.
This song reminds me of my ex, he lived across the street from me and we would go over to each others' houses late at night and listen to her songs. When this was still unreleased and unknown, I saw on his phone that he had already listened to it on ESvid. I knew we were the same type of person in that moment. He flew back home the day before covid to visit his family and got stuck there because the border closed. Still haven't seen him to this day and we just grew apart and now don't even talk. This song will always remind me of those nights, I hope you're doing well out East, O.!
Most people think that the slow, sultry music is in sharp contrast with the reference to wild love, drugs and depression - too soft for the edge, too gentle for the sadness. But I know exactly how this feels like... It's a particular mood, not easy to describe. It's like giving up and finding a strange, unexpected peace at the same time, finding the peace that tiredness brings after you've tried so hard and you gave up and realised... well, I actually can't feel the pain anymore. So I'll sit here and enjoy this lazy, tired, end-of-the-world-but-I-dont-care peace. My world ended, or I thought it did, but actually this is not so bad... A bit hopeless and not much to strive for anymore, but not so bad. Pass the beer and let's watch a movie. The world ended and I'm still kinda alright. Kinda alright. That's the mood Lana brings.
Once it started playing I was like "Wait, do I know this?" and then I realised what song is that and almost screamed. I'm so glad she released this, it deserves more recognition ❤️

Omggg... I've heard this for the first time and I'm falling in love again. Whenever I'm sad and lonely I search for Lana's songs I've never heard before and it always feel like a warm hug. Love you mother ❤
This song and so many others come from such a dark place. It's so haunting and beautiful. You can hear and feel the pain. You either get it or you don't.
This song has been such a favorite for so long that it’s still an obsession on this album. I’m beyond grateful she’s not deterred by past songs being leaked and including them on albums where they fit a greater narrative. I pray she continues this trend. I’ve been playing this song on repeat like Daisy in “Girl, Interrupted” having killed herself to Skeeter Davis’s “End of the World”.
I love how all of Lana's songs are connected. It's like they're interacting with each other. I love the way all of her songs are telling a story. My heart melts everytime it comes to Lana's music.
I’ve probably played this song like 100 times now and I can’t get over it. I’ve never been in a relationship nor been deep in love but this song just makes me picture a beautiful and innocent type of love. Yet again, I can picture a rebellious and young love. Lana’s songs really speak to my soul…. Cheesy but true!!
this song is so under-appreciated. the ‘i’m on a freeway racin at a million and i just can’t stop’ is so perfect. and the final verse ‘californ-i-a homeland of the gods’ is SO lana and perfect
This proves it! Elizabeth, you are so divine - turning all your suffering into MAGIC 👑 The best singer/singer songwriter in the world - the 21st Century is yours! 🐉
I used to listen to this a lot when it was unreleased I thought it was made for her earlier albums but she decided not to put it There was a strange peace and loneliness coming to me knowing that it is not known to many people It was sadness, loneliness, peacefulness but happiness too I never thought she would release it I am happy about it tho ❤
this is beautiful poetry, sometimes I recall I want to listen to this sounds. What amazes me, is that it doesn´t make me feel sad, something like free and liberated
