Price capping gave an INSTANT thumbs down!!! Let us figure the budget for ourselves. You all just need to tell us the product ratings without "pre-filters"!

@Chris Day I never said that price wasn't important. I said for them to choose the best overall and allow all of us to decide our budgets. Even if they did the top 5 by pricing tiers... not cut out the very best options for those of us willing to save up to buy quality. By the way, don't try auditing my speech, editing my speech, or demeaning my speech... ...you will end up being perceived a fool.

More like you need rage control. Price is an important factor for some even though performance might not be better because of it. Let them do your job. Buy what you want regardless. Instant thumbs down!!!!

@Dixie Wishbone when I was a kid, back in the early 80's, we had the big square maker that produced what you described from your memory. I loved that thinner style.
Dixie Wishbone
Dixie Wishbone Hace 17 días
It is interesting that you know exactly what he is referring to?? I grew up using a full sized "sunbeam" waffle griddle / iron that made 1/2" thick waffles with much smaller indentations then the typical Belgian style that are more popular today. I am 62 and not trying to be smart here . . . but have eaten a lot of waffles in my life. Thanks!

What does the flip / spin have to do with making waffles?
SeikiBrian
SeikiBrian Hace 7 días
It's all about gravity and surface contact. Flipping keeps the lightness of the interior more even. The old cast-iron waffle iron I used over a campfire 50 years ago also worked best if it was flipped after pouring in the batter, and that wasn't just to keep both sides hot.
Philip Webb
Philip Webb Hace 14 días
@J Nelson But that is true of any batter that rises in a waffle maker.
J Nelson
J Nelson Hace 22 días
Receiving plate starts cooking immediately, so barely fill all cavities. Flipping sends batter into cavities of other plate. Rising batter fills interior.

This video was published on March 11, 2019. On ATK’s site, they have this same review and it shows at the top of the article “UPDATE JANUARY *2017* Cuisinart has terminated its Waring Pro line. Our winning Belgian waffle iron, the Waring Pro Double Belgian Waffle Maker (model WMK600), is now called the Cuisinart Double Belgian Waffle Maker (model WAF-F20B). We purchased the new model, tested it, and, despite a minor cosmetic change of the heat-control knob, its status has not changed; it remains our favorite.” Was this video just recycled and they missed a step? Sloppy work, regardless.

I have had 2 of them in the last 8 yrs, The first one lasted barely over the warranty and Warring Pro had No problem sending me a new one, The one I have now , one of the waffles will not cook properly and one does still work fantastically. So now I find myself hunting for the Last Waffle Maker I will ever buy.. Waring Pro makes a commercial double waffle maker but that is some serious $$, Looked at Kitchenaid will get something before Christmas and hope not to spend more than $200 I tell you what , The Goodnight Waffle that came with the Warning PRO Has a recipe for the best waffle ever

I used to own the runner up. The waffles come out pretty, but they taste funny as if the outside is over cooked even when not left in too long. And that means the fluffy inside is super thin. I think this is due to the very deep waffling pattern.

Thickness isn't the main factor in carbohydrate intake; mass is. If you eat one segment of these thick waffles you'll be consuming fewer carbs than if you eat a whole thin waffle.

I have the Waring pro and love it so much! Makes beautiful and evenly browned waffles every single time. I’ve had it for 3 years. My mom even brings it to daycare to cook for the 24 goobers in her class. Wish the plates were removable tho for when I make liege waffles. I compensate by making sacrificial waffles to grab the caramelized sugar from coking liege waffles lol.

Missing a lot of contenders and seems most and for good reason suffer the same issues as any cooking platform including learning the temperature curve. Nothing in the cooking arena is ever going to make one thing or many things over and over 100%. If you choose one, it's more about reliability then absolute perfection every time. Perfection in most cases will come from learning the curve. What you should have done was spent more time throwing names under the bus so they could come back to answer you. No names, only the winner. Well if you want to bring 14 units out there then show them in action and why they are good and the bad; as I said before everything in the kitchen has it's learning curve. Fact is you have to prove results good or bad up front not in the back kitchen. Is what it is. I don't even think you were selling this thing, it might have been the absolute truth; but that needs to be seen.

Waring/Cuisinart: I own a belgian waffle maker that is now a door stop, after having made about 20 waffles with it. My waffle maker broke at the pivot point one year after the end of the warranty. @Jonathon Ahhh, well now I guess I know why so many people don't know Adam, although I'm not sure why people assume those videos are older. I looked at the list you're talking about (thank you) and they must be online things America's Test Kitchen had Lisa do for the internet only. I notice they're all pretty recent. It's funny that in some of them she even calls herself the gadget guru but nobody seems to notice that. I'm not sure why they put her on these, except maybe they wanted them give her more to do since she only occasionally does her gadget things. But still she hasn't done these reviews on the show at all. It's always been Adam and the show has always used this exact same format Why do people assume those are old and this stuff with Adam is some kind of new thing? Do they watch the equipment reviews on that playlist but never ever watch the actual show itself? That sounds possible to me but weird.

@Joey Mama That doesn't refute what I said, though. I even acknowledged that there may be other formats in which other hosts review equipment, because I know that ATK has a presence obviously beyond ESvid. I simply said that on ESvid, ATK has a playlist titled "Equipment Reviews", and Lisa is the host on all of them that I checked.

Where are the ones that do more than just waffles? Most of us don't have a large kitchen and can't have single job appliances when able. What about the ones that do waffles, omelets, mini cakes, etc? They are under $100 actually under $50. Or is this channel only for extreme high end kitchens; and self service breakfast hotels? Probably not because this is the 3rd video that i have watched recently with comments about error in the products links.

@SeikiBrian as a combat vet, we learn to ONE don't attack other vets, TWO choose our battles, you need this channel more than me. So I will not watch anything from this channel, all yours.

@Dead to Self You didn't ruin my day; sorry if pointing out the truth upset your shallow ego. I watch these videos (and subscribe to their Web site) because as a senior citizen and a veteran I CAN'T afford everything I want, so I only want to buy the best of what I can afford and not waste my limited funds on junk.

@SeikiBrian so what if that's the title? By your reply it should have the word "only" then. I own a waffle maker that has several exchangeable plates so it can also make pancakes, omelettes, mini cakes or brownies, etc. I was curious if they would cover something similar. I am happy that you can afford whatever you want. I am a senior and a veteran (lived most of my life out of a seabag) who likes to dream. Sorry i upset you and ruined your day with my question.

The title of this video is "The Best Electric Waffle Maker..." not "the best multi-tasking gadget." If you don't have room for a waffle maker, why are you wasting your time watching this video?

Even Alton Brown recommends a waffle maker for waffles, and he hates unitaskers (of course, he justifies that by finding other uses for his waffle maker). I'd say that's a fair bet there are no good waffle makers that aren't just waffle makers.
