Ugly sonic was the funniest part of the movie. I laughed so hard at the scenes that focused on his teeth. And this movie actually made me like him. I love how they characterized him and how he actually helped save them in the end.
I love they didn't just make a joke of him like "Haha, look it's Ugly Sonic. Remember that? Let's give a hate of his character by make fun how ugly he is." but they gave him a redemption.
Disney simply couldn't get enough of using sonic in a random Disney movie, so after using him with Roger in Wreck-it Ralpha 1&2, they used the one paramount would rather forget to avoid any issues.
I honestly felt bad for the character of Ugly Sonic. Like he said, he was hated and judged by everyone essentially just because of his appearance. The kid laughing at him actually made me feel worse for him in a sad way. But he didn’t let that get to him as much anymore and tried to keep pushing forward and In the end it did get better. He got a job with the FBI and a show, so it was wholesome to see him actually do better
He was never ugly, he was a legend in cinema history, he was perfect, he was the original…. Without him, there wouldn’t be a Sonic movie, or a sequel. We salute to “Ugly” Sonic. 🫃<- Sonic’s beer belly.
I hate to say it but this movie made me attached to ugly Sonic. Now, if he actually was the official design for the Sonic movie, hell no. But with the context given and the road he’s been down, I actually like him as a character and I kinda wanna see him more
This is some weird-ass trippy timeline we're living in, but I'm all for it! It's best to embrace and accept the weirder side of Sonic as a joke than to take it seriously. I'm happy both CG Sonic's can co-exist like this.
I chose to believe that the line "Can't hurt my feelings if i'm in on the joke." Is a jab at the way Sonic as a whole has been written after Unleashed.
I think the movie was FINE, the bootlegging plot was certainly interesting and a good take on what can happen to animation in our society. But SOMETHING about the animation on Chip and other traditionally animated characters made it SO hard for me to get invested. I think it's literally just 3D but with different shading. And they're CALLING it TRADITIONALLY cell shaded animation when it just isn't. It feels like a slap in the face to traditionally created characters. Meanwhile the CGI characters don't look half bad. cell shaded 3D animation looks like sh*t.
Honestly I can see ugly sonic having his own ESvid series even if it’s just short as it would be interesting to see what happens after this movie plus it would be entertaining.
I actually like the personality they added to sonic in this movie. Appears to act like a completely different character, giving him his unique and interesting aspect, which kinda fits his desing
SEGA and Paramount actually had NOTHING to do with this movie apparently. They're not credited under the cameos with everyone else. Ugly Sonic probably falls under parody, so they could get away with this.
I'm going to sign up for Disney+ just to watch this movie. This movie seems absolutely insane from the trailers alone, and then finding out weeks ago that Disney is going to revive this abomination to play a critical part in the Chip 'n Dale movie has left me in disbelief. I need to witness this movie on my TV screen.
