@Nick Most people in USA haven't got to see Trout play live. I think this is what he was trying to convey...... Also the MLB is where the best players in the world go to play so it is kind of the worlds league.

It's honestly depressing having both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani on the freaking Angels. Literally two of the best baseball players to ever play the game, and they are stuck on a team that will probably never see a World Series until they get new ownership. At least there is hope with Ohtani since he will be a free agent after this season, so hopefully he won't want to stay on that team even if they offer him a big payday. I'm hoping he ends up going to a team that at least makes the playoffs regularly and has ownership/management who actually care about winning games.

There are many pitchers who would not want the opportunity because they need to practice for MLB season and on top of this to play games like this right before the season makes for a long season.

Unless there is a personal rivalry between the two that I haven't heard about, there isn't much of a rivalry between their two teams. They are both in different league divisions so unless they meet in the playoffs (which is rare given how bad the Angels are), there isn't much going on. I was at one of the games last season where the Angels played the Dodgers in LA, and a lot of Angels fans were kind of intermixed with everyone else and all have a good time. It's not like the real rivalry between the Dodgers and Giants where we almost always see each other at the end of the season with critical division games. Their fans hate us, and we hate them. As it should be! The Angels fans, though? I just kind of feel bad for them.

I'm of course rooting for USA but I got so mad when I saw that. He would've beaten it out?!
